Meditation is the art and practice of being still and present. To be able to disconnect from all the distractions around you and to allow yourself to just be one with universe's energetic flow with self love and compassion and without fear, worry or self judgement. When I first started to meditate, as a clairvoyant, I experienced a lot of mind chatter, visions, distraction, nervousness, fear and an inability to just relax. Sometimes, instead of meditating I found myself journeying and talking to spirit which I love, but it did not help me disconnect from the anxiety or stress I was experiencing at the time. In order to help improve my meditation practice, I started to use guided meditations as a tool to help me focus my attention on my breadth and to clear my mind of all thoughts. Over time, I was able to develop a meditation practice where I was able to quiet the mind chatter and just allow myself to feel peace and stillness. This was critical to my recovery process from chronic autoimmune, inflammatory disease and trauma from my childhood. For many of us, suffering from chronic disease can lead to fear, stress and anxiety which can place our body in a constant "fight or flight" response which releases large amounts of adrenaline and cortisol which over long periods of time, can negatively impact our immune system. Our immune system is the very system that helps our bodies recover from disease states so it requires tremendous support to heal and function well. Meditation allows our central nervous system to relax, stop the "fight or flight" response and thus lower our production of adrenaline and cortisol. For maximum benefit, it is recommended that you try to meditate even for just ten minutes a day. I know that this can be difficult for those of us who have busy jobs, families to take care of and "stuff" to deal with everyday, but I always remind myself how good I feel after I meditate and that "the body cannot heal if the mind is in chaos". The value and benefit of meditation is scientifically documented and experientially powerful. It is my hope that I can help others learn to achieve this state of inner peace and flow with the universe.
In order to help you start or improve your meditations skills, I am holding several simple guided meditation sessions in 2019 that will help support you on your meditation journey. I hope to see you there soon!
